Miscarriage
Any couple who have suffered one or miscarriage may wish to discuss the circumstances surrounding their miscarriage. Book an appointment to discuss whether further treatment is needed.
Miscarriage with Jersey Women’s Health Hub
Miscarriage is the unexpected ending of a pregnancy, and is often a difficult experience for both the woman experiencing it and her partner.
About ⅓ to ½ of all pregnancies end in miscarriage before a person misses a menstrual period or even knows they are pregnant. About 10-20% of people who know they are pregnant will miscarry.

How we can help
At Jersey Women’s Health Hub, we can offer support, diagnosis and treatment for those who have suffered a miscarriage and provide advice for the future. Although there is no recommended waiting time to attempt another pregnancy, it may be appropriate to discuss the circumstances of your miscarriage and the timing of your next pregnancy with us.
Taking time to heal both physically and emotionally after a miscarriage is important. Above all, don’t blame yourself for the miscarriage. Counselling is available to help you cope with your loss. A pregnancy loss support group might also be a valuable resource to you and your partner.
What happens during the appointment?
To prevent further miscarriage, we may recommend that you have treatment with progesterone, a hormone needed for implantation of the pregnancy in the uterus. If you have an illness, treating the condition can improve the chances for a successful pregnancy.
Early pregnancy scans can be performed if you fall pregnant again; many find these scans a real help in alleviating any anxiety.
