Fertility
I was diagnosed with PCOS by Jess and Neil, I had very irregular periods and had been trying to conceive for 16 month.
I was prescribed two medications to help induce a bleed and to try induce ovulation. After a few months I was also given a trigger injection to release an egg. My total treatment time was 5 months and I am now 17 weeks pregnant.
I couldn't have done it without them! Both their attitudes and calming nature always put me at ease at each appointment. I left the clinic each time thinking right I’ve got this!
Thank you so much!
Recurrent Miscarriage
After suffering four recurrent miscarriages in three years, my husband and I made an appointment with Jess and Neil to discuss our options and next steps for trying again for a baby. After a heartbreaking few years, we felt a little anxious but Neil and Jess were so empathetic and supportive during that initial conversation and we left feeling more positive about our future.
As soon as we found out we were pregnant again Jess saw us straight away and prescribed some additional medication that hadn’t been discussed with us before. Pregnancy after loss is such an anxious time and Jess gave us as much support as she could, with regular scans, HCG testing and ongoing advice.
What has been really important for me, is that Jess made my husband and I feel validated in our grief and anxiety. Having seen multiple medical professionals in Jersey over the past few years, I have never felt as comfortable and understood as I have as Jess and Neil’s patient.
I’m now 21 weeks pregnant with a healthy baby boy, and whilst we’ll never know if that is just luck or the additional medication Jess prescribed, I know for certain that I have felt mentally more capable of dealing with this 5th pregnancy because of the treatment received from Jess and Neil.
Pregnancy after Loss
I have known Mr McLachlan for many years, and met Dr Jess in less than fortunate circumstances as I experienced a miscarriage. They were incredibly supportive and caring, and a few days later Dr Jess actually called to check in on me and reassure me things would be ok.
A few months later and still not pregnant again I scheduled an appointment with her where we went through my history, preferences and even upcoming holiday plans! We made a plan and stuck with it, and once we were able to pinpoint my ovulation and addressed a few other concerns, I was lucky to get pregnant.
We monitored the pregnancy quite closely as some of my earlier exams were less than reassuring, and Dr Jess was so accommodating, finding me appointments at funny hours and tailoring her approach to my changing needs. I'm now nearly at the second trimester and breathing a sigh of relief, and will forever be grateful for Dr Jess' and Mr MacLachlan's care and attention at such an important time
